The Faces of Jackson County Class of 2020: Jame Young

Meet Jame Young! Jame is a senior at Jefferson High School and will be going to Savannah College of Art and Design. We want to congratulate James and his family on his upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My mom is a Doctor of English and works as a professor at UNG and my father is a Master in counseling and works at his own private practice. I have one brother who is about to enter high school.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design to get my masters in architecture.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Gringo’s and Zaxby’s.”

Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “I have been a resident of Jefferson since I was around 4.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “The most interesting person here is my best friend, Joey Santana.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Normandy, France so I could experience the beautiful scenery, take part in french culture, and see the battlegrounds of the WWII.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “My favorite movie is ‘American Psycho’ and my favorite TV show is ‘Breaking Bad.’”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Never get caught up in your mistakes. There is nothing you can do, so learn and better yourself for the future.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Travel to every continent (except Antarctica).”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: “Metallica.”

Q: What is something you will do as soon as COVID-19 is over?
A: “Travel with my friends to wherever the destination may be.”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “Corey Taylor, lead singer of Slipknot. He has a lot of experiences, good and bad, and I would love to hear them all.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “Downtown Jefferson is beautiful.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “Either still studying at college or having a job as an architect.”

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I have a narcissistic complex. I try to keep it in my own head as much as I can.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “River Street, Savannah.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “Favorite holiday: Christmas; Favorite month: January and Favorite day: I don’t have one.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Metallica.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “Myself.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “Fresh cut grass and lavender.”

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Sleep, Food, and Vibe.”
