Faces of Jackson County: Daniel Eubanks

Meet Daniel Eubanks! Daniel is a deputy with the Jefferson Police Department and earlier this year was awarded Officer of the Year for his service. He is married to Blair and the couple has two children; Shay and Jackson.

We want to thank Daniel for recently spending time with us and telling us more about his life and love of Jackson County.

Question: You were recently awarded Officer of the Year, tell me more about that?
Answer: “We got a call for a possible active shooter at a house, but as when we got closer it turned into a drive-by shooting where someone shot at someone else’s house and they shot back. I was the first officer on scene. So, when I arrived I turned on my alley lights to illuminate the side of the house and and as I’m walking a man comes out with a gun pointed at me. I tell the man to drop the gun. He doesn’t drop the gun and starts running at me, I start to fire, but then ran over to the other officer as my backup at the time and got behind his car. The man starts to walk to my car, still with his gun pointed at us, takes my car to the
cul-de-sac turns it around and rams it into the car we were just behind and another patrol car, totalting both cars. After that we made the arrest on the man.”
