Faces of Jackson County Class of 2020: Sway Farmer

Meet Sway Farmer! Sway is a senior at Jefferson High School and plans to go into fashion design after college. We want to congratulate Sway and her family on her upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “I live with my mom, Miriam Gunter, and step dad, Terrell Gunter. I have eight siblings and my sister Chelsey Tillery is my role model.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan on going to college and become a fashion designer or costume designer in movie and TV productions.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Los Vaqueros and Beef O’ Brady’s.”

Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “Nine years.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “Mr. Pittard.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Milan, Italy. They are known for great fashion.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “My favorite movie is ‘Burlesque’ and for TV show it is ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Make your own path. Nobody can tell you how to look and act or what to wear and do. If you stay true to yourself and do what you want you will achieve the true meaning of happiness.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Go to New York’s fashion week.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Benee or Yung Gravy.”

Q: What is something you will do as soon as COVID-19 is over?
A: “Go see my friends and boyfriend.”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “Jensen Ackles. I have always been a fan of his acting. Beef O’ Brady’s.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “The marching band and color guard!”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “Settling down and starting a family as my fashion career grows.”

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I can recite every single word of every single Yung Gravy song.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “Bell Mountain.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “September. Fourth of July. February 30.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Color guard.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My sister Chelsey Tillery.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “Bath and Body Works, A Thousand Wishes. Mahogany teakwood.”

Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Home is where the heart is. Color guard. Memories.”
