Faces of Jackson County Class of 2020: Sarah LaMar

Meet Sarah LaMar! Sarah is a senior at Jefferson High School and plans to become a nurse after graduation. We want to congratulate Sarah on her upcoming graduation and best wishes on her future endeavors. 

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My parents are Mike and Tammy LaMar. My family is crazy. It’s always interesting to be around them. They are some of the funniest people I know.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: My plans after graduation are going to college and med school. I want to become a nurse and work with kids.  

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “I love to go eat at Beef O’ Brady’s and Gringos.”

Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “I’ve lived in Jefferson my entire life.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “The most interesting person I’ve met in Jefferson would be Tick. He’s always at all the Jefferson’s sports events cheering everyone on. He has the most school spirit out of everyone I’ve ever seen.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to Bora Bora. I’ve always wanted to go there.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is definitely my favorite TV shows.”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Never take anything for granted no matter how small it is.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Something on my bucket list is to travel the world. I think it would be so fun to go experience different things all over the world.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “I don’t really listen to a lot of bands. I listen to a lot of country music though and so a band I like to listen to would have to be Dan + Shay.

Q: What is something you will do as soon as this COVID-19 is over?
A: “I’m going to go to the soccer field with my friends and kick around.”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “I would love to have lunch with Luke Combs. He’s my favorite country artist. He seems like an overall interesting and nice person. I think I would probably go to Beef O’ Brady’s.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “I love how much Jefferson cares about sports and the students. During this whole thing showing the support towards the students in this times is heart warming.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “I want to be doing well in the health care field and be successful. I want to be stable and starting to settle down in life.”

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I don’t really know the answer to that. I’m genuinely an open book.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “So far the prettiest place I’ve ever been to is Miami Beach, it was so pretty there and the water was so blue.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month is probably July. I love how it’s warm and pretty. My favorite holiday is probably Christmas. I love all the lights and decorations people put up and it’s genuinely just a loving time of the year. I love my Birthday too it makes you realize how much you mean to people and how you made an impact on their life.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “I would probably say my senior year season of soccer was a 10/10.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “Definitely my friends and family I can’t just pick one person.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “I love the smell of clean laundry and vanilla.”

Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Safe, Loving, and Dependable.”
