Faces of Jackson County Class of 2020: Kristin Dean

Meet Kristin Dean! Kristin is a senior at Jefferson High School and she plans to attend Athens Technical College in the fall. Her parents are Greg and Donna Dean and she has one sister, Ashley. We want to congratulate Kristin and her family on her upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future. 

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: “My parents are Greg and Donna Dean. I have one sister, Ashley Dean, that was a graduate of Jefferson High School in 2017.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan on attending Athens Technical College and major in physical therapy assistant.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “My favorite restaurants is Cream & Shuga and Beef O’ Brady’s.”

Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “I don’t live in Jefferson, but I have attended Jefferson Schools since I was in third grade.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “It would have to be Tick because he shows school spirit and support to the community.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would travel to Hawaii because I think it is a beautiful place.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “My favorite TV show would have to be ‘Friends’ and my favorite movie is ‘American Sniper.’”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Always stay true to yourself and put God first.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “To swim with dolphins and skydiving.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “It would either have to be Florida Georgia Line or Dan and Shay.”

Q: What is something you will do as soon as COVID-19 is over?
A: “Go on a vacation to Universal.”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “I would like to have lunch with George Strait at Gringos because I love listening to his music and he seems like a honest and nice guy.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “How the community all comes together and supports each other.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “I see myself working as a physical therapy assistant in a sports clinic.”

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I have toured the locker rooms and walked on the field at the Mercedes Benz stadium.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “Charleston, S.C.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month would be July because of summer vacation. My favorite holiday would be Christmas because I like spending time with family and looking at lights. The best single day on the calendar is March 23 (my birthday).”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “The teachers at Jefferson City Schools.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My family and my Pastor.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “The smell of burning leaves and cinnamon rolls.”

Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Loving, Caring, and Security.”
