Faces of Jackson County: Todd and Trisha Harper

Meet Todd and Trisha Harper of Hoschton! They have three children Amber, TJ, and Xavier. They are the founders of their 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, TNT Visions Outreach. Their mission is to empower the Jackson County community by providing much needed support to the youth, working parents, and senior citizens. The Harpers are the voices of encouragement on their weekly talk show, TNT Talks. Todd also is an Assistant Manager at TICA and Trisha is a Career’s Teacher at Gainesville Middle School, a part-time travel agent, and a jewelry consult with Angels Trinket Closet. They love their family, they love to travel, and they love helping people, “If I can help someone along the way then my living shall not be in vain,” Todd said.

It has been pleasure connecting with Todd and Trisha Harper, and we want to thank them for telling us more about their lives and love of our community.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: “We will celebrate 29 years of marriage this month, and we have three children.”

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
A: “Current career:  Todd is an Assistant Manager at TICA.  Trisha is a Career’s Teacher at Gainesville Middle School, a part-time travel agent, and a jewelry consult with Angels Trinket Closet.  They are the founders of TNT Visions Outreach.”

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “A Taste from Tammy, Crab & Soul Catering, Denise Catering, and The Carriage House.”

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
A: “Our entire life.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “Ms. Lila Mason…she is a respected woman in the community who is always positive and encouraging others to follow their dreams.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Africa to see the beauty and to experience the culture.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “‘Hurricane’ and WWE Wrestling.”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “If you want to be blessed, be a blessing to somebody.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “To purchase a building for TNT Visions Outreach.”

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: “Maverick City Music.”

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
A: “The Commerce Youth Center.”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama to hear their story. Cotton Calf Kitchen.”

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
A: “The small hometown feel of the community in spite of the growth.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “Expanding TNT Visions Outreach to help more people and traveling the world.”

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “Todd writes poetry.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “Hawaii and London.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “December… Christmas…February 20 (our wedding anniversary).”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “The grace and mercy of God.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “Our children and our parents.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “Sunday dinner and the smell of fresh cut grass.”

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Love…Peace…Laughter.”
