Faces of Jackson County Class of 2020: Tatum McMillan

Meet Tatum McMillan! Tatum is a senior at Jefferson High School and plans to attend the University of North Georgia in the fall. We want to congratulate Tatum and her family on her upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future. 

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My family is a huge loving family. They’re so supportive of everything I do. They can be a little crazy at times, but who’s family isn’t?”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan to attend University of North Georgia and major in nursing.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Gringos is by far my favorite, Cream & Shuga would be a close second.”

Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “Since I was about 3 or 4.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “The most interesting would probably be Tick. He always shows his full support for the sports at Jefferson and is always at the football games cheering on the boys!”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Probably somewhere warm and sunny, so the Bahamas.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “I don’t have a favorite movie, but favorite TV show would definitely be ‘The Vampire Diaries.’”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “To live life to the fullest..you never know when things can change for the worst.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “To travel the world.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “I don’t have a favorite band, by my favorite go-to genre would be country.”

Q: What is something you will do as soon as this COVID-19 is over?
A: “Go see my niece and nephew.”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “Probably Harry Styles – totally a weird answer but he’s my favorite artist. I’d take him to Gringo’s.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “My favorite thing about this community is how supportive every one is of each other. Everyone knows everyone. It’s just a very close community and I love it.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “I see myself as a nurse, hopefully married with some kids!”

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I would say I’m a pretty open book. So, I don’t think there’s anything.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “Probably New York, it was absolutely amazing.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month is October, not too hot, not too cold. Favorite holiday is Christmas.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Friday nights during football season at Memorial Stadium.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My niece and nephew, and my little cousins inspire me to be the best person I can be.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “The smell of rain and freshly cut grass!”

Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Love, Honesty, and Happiness.”
