Meet Joanna Griffeth! Joanna is a senior at Jefferson High School and plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall. We want to congratulate Joanna and her family on her upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future!
Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: “I am the youngest of three siblings. I was born in Asheville, N.C. but moved here when I was three. My brother went to UGA and my sister went to Ga Tech. My mom immigrated to the USA from Switzerland when she married my dad, and my siblings and I considered Swiss-Americans.”
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I am going to the University of Georgia to major in Public health and minor in Spanish and French.”
Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “La Hacienda, The Carriage House Buffet of Jefferson, Jefferson Pizza Kitchen, Iron Pig.”
Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “14 years.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “Mr. Pittard.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Japan because it has such a unique culture and there’s so many beautiful sites there and things I want to experience.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “’The Sound of Music,’ ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender.’”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Love everyone.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I want to ride a camel in the Sahara Desert.”
Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
Q: What is something you will do as soon as this COVID 19 thing is over with?
A: “Go to on a trip to Costa Rica with my friends.”
Q:If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “Queen Elizabeth ll. I want to hear about all of the experiences she’s been through and the stories of the people she’s met. The Carriage House”
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “How close everyone is to each other.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “I see myself working as a nurse or doctor in a third world country.”
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I know Morse code.”
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “The Swiss Alps.”
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “June, Christmas, August 27.”
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Camping in the mountains at night with family or friends around the bonfire singing songs about Jesus.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My siblings.”

A: “Roses and Chocolate.”
