Faces of Jackson County Class of 2020: Emma Vann

Meet Emma Vann! Emma is a senior at Jefferson High School and plans on attending Georgia College in the fall. Her parents are Sam and Debra and she has one sister. We want to congratulate Emma and her family on her upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: “I live with my mom and dad, Sam and Debra. I also have an older sister who lives in Greenville.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan on attending Georgia College & State University and reviving a Bachelors of Science in Psychology.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “I love Gringo’s, Cream and Shuga, and Beef ‘O’ Brady’s.”

Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “I moved to Jefferson in 2012 in fifth grade.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “Emily Howell! She has been a great mentor and good friend.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would love to go to Italy! My goal is to travel the world in the future and that is the first place I would go.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “Favorite movie: ‘Forrest Gump’ and favorite TV show: ‘The Office.'”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Never put your key to happiness in someone else’s pocket.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Travel the world!”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Luke Combs.”

Q: What is something you will do as soon as COVID-19 is over?
A: “Sit down in a restaurant.”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “I would love to have lunch with Jackie Kennedy. I have also looked up to the way she supported JFK, her fashion, and everything she stood for. I would take her to a private room in Cream and Shuga.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “I love how we all come together to help out those in need.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “In five to 10 years I plan on working on reviving my doctorate degree.”

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “That I’m allergic to pumpkins.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “Garden of the Gods, Colo.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “Favorite month- April, favorite holiday- Christmas and best day-4/21.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “My dad! He’s the best.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My nephew, Grady.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “Fresh cut grass.”

Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Love, Support, and Family.”
