Jeff Grant

Meet Jeff Grant! He and his wife, Sherry have lived in Jackson County for 15 years.  They have three daughters and 5 grand children.  Jeff and Sherry started iServe Ministries with the goal of ending poverty in Northeast Georgia.  Jeff can be seen all over our community working with iServe, mentoring students, at sporting events, at Corner-Stone Church, and many other places.  I have had the pleasure of knowing Jeff for many years.  He is one of the most genuine, encouraging, honest, and giving person you will ever meet.  Jeff has had a tremendous impact on me and people all over our community and county.  I asked Jeff to tell us a little bit about himself, and this is what he said:

My name is Jeff Grant and I am 48 years old. We moved to Jackson County Georgia 15 yrs ago from Orlando Florida. I enjoy all sports especially what ever the Florida Gators are playing. I am a mentor to four students through Legacy Youth Mentoring program. I like having 4 seasons here in NE Georgia but sure do miss day trips to the beach. My wife and I started iServe Ministries 10 years ago with the hopes of ending generational poverty in NE Georgia. We attend Corner-Stone Church where I am the part time children/youth pastor.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Sherry and I have been married for 20 years. We have 3 daughters, Lara 30, Karissa 29, and Rori 17. We have 5 grandchildren.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Currently I am the president of iServe Ministries. I am also a part time children/youth pastor at Corner-Stone Church. In the past I have held manager positions at Frito-Lay and Best Buy.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Local Station, Huck’s, Chick-fil-A

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
15 yrs

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Brent Gilstrap because we are just alike

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
New Zealand. I really enjoy the ocean, and every picture I have seen has been beautiful.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Sports, any and all kinds of sports

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Love God, Love others, and repeat

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Dr. Cleveland and Jefferson Dental

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Tim Tebow. I like what he stands for and how he is trying to make a difference in the world. Chick-fil-A.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The slow pace and friendly neighbors.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Where ever the Lord sends me. Hopefully the beach.

Nothing interesting here.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Rocky Mountains

September, college football, Christmas, December 22nd (wedding anniversary)
