Faces of Jackson County Class of 2020: Catie Mae Martin

Meet Catie Mae Martín! Catie is a senior at Jefferson High School and plans to attend the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega this fall. Her parents are Wade and Nichole Martin and she has one sister. We want to congratulate Catie Mae on her graduation and best wishes in the future.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My parents are Wade and Nichole Martin. My mother has taught at JES her entire career. My sister is Caroline Martin and will be a junior at Presbyterian College and is on the golf team.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I will attend University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Beef ‘O’ Brady’s.”

Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “My entire life.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “Justin Safely. He was my Youth Leader at FBC in Jefferson.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Alaska , because it looks like an amazing and fun experience.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “’Mama Mia.’”

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Have fun- enjoy life.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Go to Greece.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “SZA.”

Q: What is something you will do as soon as COVID-19 is over?
A: “Go to the beach with my friends!”

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “Chase Stokes -Texas Road House.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “It’s a small town and veryone know everyone.”

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “Jamaica.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “June! My birthday month! Halloween.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “My dog, Murray.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My Nanny.”

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “Coconut and cotton.”

Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Family, Happiness, and Love.”
